Description
This is an alternate version of the
video I posted last week.
I had always intended to make a true 3-D version that I (at least) can view on my television to get a sort of optimized (again, for me) 3-D effect. I realized that:
- the flat walls were obscuring the domed roof and the textured floor, which really accentuate the 3-D effect - so I got rid of them
- the mirrors, not easy to pick out anyway, nearly disappeared into the background without the walls, so I added glowing "frames" (which I really like and will incorporate into any future renders in this story line).
This is a 2-D version of that video (left eye camera). The lack of walls gives a sort of surreal look, that I kind of like - but it seems such a waste of space on an actual space craft. I'm working on that.
You'll have to take my word for it, the 3-D effect is really quite nice. Well, you don't necessarily have to take my word for it: If you have the means to display the full HD video on a 3-D TV that can play SBS (Side-by-Side) format, check out this version: sta.sh/01s6xnfxe91u If you like 3-D, I think you're going to enjoy it. If 3-D makes you sick or gives you headaches… we'll I certainly wouldn't want to do that - but you might be surprised: this doesn't do the impossible shifts and focal changes that are often done in 3-D movies and you might enjoy it. And… it's only 45 seconds long.
As with the previous version:

Poser Pro 2014
Victoria 4 (all 4 characters)
DM's Teleporter
(BTW: I really love the floor prop from this collection. It is actually 3 dimensional, some of the cross pieces are slightly below the surface) and looks even more amazing in the 3-D version)

Impressive 3D work! Poor lady, can't seem to get that ship off the ground. At least she singed one of her captors before giving up.
The previous version, though looking a bit confined due to the walls, as you stated, looks good too. And it almost looked to me like the alien got a little extra singed in that one than in this newer version. The walls in the other version, made me think of a Star Trek-like set. Unless each of those little saucers has it's own "garage" type place where the pilots and/or mechanical teams have to maintain them. Either way, on either piece, nice job!
